Circle
instead of
crisis
The interactive
exhibition
Bring the exhibition to your region!
Dive into a world without garbage!
Discover in the Cradle to Cradle exhibition how we can shape a future worth living with the Cradle to Cradle principle: climate-positive instead of climate-neutral, healthy products instead of resource scarcity, circle instead of crisis!
Climate change, resource shortages, biodiversity-crisis, and social injustice: The way we are living and behaving is anything but future-oriented. However, a different world is already possible today and every one of us can actively help shape it.
How? You can do this at the Experience the “Circle not Crisis” exhibition in Gelsenkirchen from June 28 to August 29, 2025 .
The bilingual exhibition presents a positive image of the future, uses practical examples to make the unimaginable tangible and shows how we can all shape a future worth living.

What to expect
Gain insight into the effects of our human actions over the past decades.
We have created an economic system which is no longer consistent with the cycles of natural ecosystems. This linear system is not sustainable, and we are endangering our own foundation for survival as a result.
Get to know the Cradle to Cradle concept (C2C) as a part of the solution for a future worth living.
Find out why the cherry tree and the ant play such an important exemplary role for C2C and why we humans are beneficial organisms. Discover the biological and technical cycles using everyday examples and find out how products must be designed and produced so that they are useful for people and the environment and do not generate waste: T-shirts that are recyclable and healthy for the skin. Packaging made from agricultural waste that is compostable. Building materials made from renewable materials, for example from rewetted moors that store more CO₂ than trees. Everything designed and produced according to the Cradle to Cradle principle.
Help shape your world of tomorrow.
Get creative and design ideas for a livable and sustainable future, where all waste turns into nutrients for something new and C2C is a given.

(2.5 hours, for teachers or multipliers)
Workshop "Designing a piece of cradle furniture"
(2 hours, for young people aged 13 and over)
(2 hours, for young people aged 13 and over)
This workshop for pupils focuses on the Cradle to Cradle design of a school chair. Together we will analyze what should be considered in the design so that the chair fits into its time, is good for people and the environment and does not become unusable waste at the end of its use. In addition to a playful introduction to the C2C concept, this workshop offers plenty of scope for creative collaboration.
Workshop "Design Dash - Design your own C2C product"
(2.5 hours, for young people aged 13 and over)
(2.5 hours, for young people aged 13 and over)
This workshop is all about product design using the design thinking method. Students can give free rein to their creativity to develop a C2C product for a specific usage scenario – from the innovative idea directly to the prototype. In doing so, they internalize the C2C concept and consider from the outset how their product can leave a positive footprint.
Guided tour for teachers
This one-hour guided tour gives teachers the opportunity to get to know the Cradle to Cradle concept and the exhibition from a methodological and didactic perspective. The aim is to provide inspiration on the questions of how the topic can generally be integrated into lessons or how a trip to the exhibition with a class can be meaningfully integrated into the learning plan?
