Circle
instead of
crisis
The interactive
exhibition
Bring the exhibition to your region!

Dive into a world without garbage!
Discover in the Cradle to Cradle exhibition how we can shape a future worth living with the Cradle to Cradle principle: climate-positive instead of climate-neutral, healthy products instead of resource scarcity, circle instead of crisis!
Climate change, resource shortages, biodiversity-crisis, and social injustice: The way we are living and behaving is anything but future-oriented. However, a different world is already possible today and every one of us can actively help shape it.
How? You could experience this at the exhibition “Circle instead of Crisis” from March 1 to July 4, 2024 by Cradle to Cradle NGO in cooperation with Freiraum in der Box in Berlin. Now the exhibition is going on tour.
The bilingual exhibition presents a positive image of the future, uses practical examples to make the unimaginable tangible and shows how we can all shape a future worth living.
What you can expect
Gain insight into the effects of our human actions over the past decades.
We have created an economic system which is no longer compatible with the cycles of natural ecosystems. This linear system is not sustainable, and as a result, we are endangering our own foundation for survival.

Get to know the Cradle to Cradle concept (C2C) as a part of the solution for a future worth living.
Find out why the cherry tree and the ant play such an important exemplary role for C2C and how we humans can be beneficial for our planet. Using existing examples from everyday life, discover the biological and technical cycles and find out how textiles, building materials, and packaging are designed and produced to be useful for people and the environment and never become garbage.
Help shape your world of tomorrow.
Get creative and design ideas for a livable and sustainable future, where all waste turns into nutrients for something new and C2C is a given.

Workshop "Teaching C2C - Get to know our educational material"
(2.5 hours, for teachers or multipliers)
(2.5 hours, for teachers or multipliers)
An introduction to the Cradle to Cradle concept in the context of sustainable development. We discuss why it is necessary to rethink and transform our linear economy into a circular one and what C2C can contribute to this in the field of education. To this end, we will explore existing educational materials on the topic and develop ideas for school lessons, project days and other educational contexts.
Workshop "Designing a piece of cradle furniture"
(2 hours, for young people aged 13 and over)
(2 hours, for young people aged 13 and over)
This workshop for students focuses on the Cradle to Cradle design of a school chair. Together we will analyze what should be considered in the design so that the chair is appropriate for its era, is good for people and the environment and does not end up as garbage at the end of its use. Besides a playful introduction to the C2C concept, this workshop provides plenty of room for creative collaboration.
Workshop "Design Dash - Design your own C2C product"
(2.5 hours, for young people aged 13 and over)
(2.5 hours, for young people aged 13 and over)
This workshop is all about product design using the design thinking method. Students can delve into their creativity and develop a C2C product for a specific usage scenario – from the innovative idea all the way to a prototype. In doing so, they internalize the C2C concept and consider how their product can leave a positive footprint straight from the outset.
Guided tour for teachers
This one-hour guided tour provides teachers an introduction to the Cradle to Cradle concept and the exhibition through a methodological and didactic lens. The aim is to provide inspiration on questions of how the topic can generally be integrated into lessons or how an excursion to the exhibition with a class can be meaningfully integrated into the curriculum.
Guided tour for school classes
(from grade 8)
(from grade 8)
Discover the topic of Cradle to Cradle and the circular economy in a class excursion. The exhibition is all about our current crisis situation, our use of raw materials, clever design based on everyday products and circular construction of the future. The visit can be rounded off with free time in the exhibition workspace, where students can build their own prototypes, design protest signs or relax in the reading corner. Or you can request an additional workshop from the options above.
