Vom Labor Tempelhof in die Berliner Bezirke: Die C2C Eventreihe 2023/24 für eine kreislauffähige Stadt von morgen. In zwölf dezentralen Veranstaltungen teilen wir mit euch unsere gewonnenen Erkenntnisse aus Labor Tempelhof und setzen die Diskussion über Lösungsvorschläge für eine Kreislaufwirtschaft nach Cradle to Cradle fort.

Cradle to Cradle views climate and resource protection as being inextricably linked and thus drives innovation to tackle the root causes of our current ecological, economic, and social problems. Interrelated problems require context-specific solutions.
RETHINK
The C2C School of Thought
In order to solve the problems of our time in the long term, we have to rethink our actions. Today, we are wasting finite resources and destroying our livelihood. By renouncing, we act less badly – but still far from truly right. We can only solve climate and resource problems in the long term by setting positive goals. By consistently integrating our actions into biological cycles and generating technological cycles, we create real added value: ecologically, economically and socially.
REDESIGN
The C2C Design Concept
The call to rethink is followed by the challenge to redesign: The C2C design concept is the guide for innovative and sustainable C2C products and business models. Materials that are healthy for people and the environment circulate in biological and technical cycles. We only use renewable energy, maintain if not improve air and soil quality, and ensure fair and humane working conditions along the entire supply chain.
REDIRECT
Creating a C2C Framework
A circular economy according to Cradle to Cradle needs the right framework conditions. Laws, political strategies, and guidelines determine the quality of products that can enter the market. A C2C framework must also provide incentives that promote climate and resource positive action. Our aim should be to ensure that linear thinking and linear action is no longer economically viable in the future.
CYCLES
BIOSPHERE
In the biosphere, materials circulate in a continuous biological cycle. Components that wear away with time must be 100% biodegradable – only then can they serve as sustenance for the biosphere: from synthetic textiles, packaging, and cosmetics, to car or bicycle tires. Composting is good – viewing waste as a nutrient is even better. If soap not only cleans our skin but also purifies our water, then Cradle to Cradle has become reality.
TECHNOSPHERE
In the technosphere, materials circulate in continuous technical cycles. Raw materials for the technosphere are available in limited quantities on earth. Therefore, it is essential that their high quality be consistently retained. Renewable materials may also circulate in the technosphere before ultimately becoming nutrients again. Everything is produced in such a way that the materials utilized can be separated from each other with little effort. Designed for dismantling, never again a shortage of raw materials – thanks to Cradle to Cradle.
